Lipno Treetop Walkway
The Lipno Treetop Walkway is a 675-meter-long wooden path located on Kramolín Hill near Lipno nad Vltavou. It gradually ascends through the canopy of a mixed forest to a height of approximately 25 meters above ground. Along the way, visitors can enjoy various adrenaline and educational features, making it a fun experience for both adults and children.
The trail leads to an impressive nine-sided observation tower, offering panoramic views of the Lipno area, the Šumava Mountains, the Novohradské Mountains, and, in good weather, even the Alps. From the top of the tower, visitors can ride down a 52-meter-long dry slide—the longest of its kind in the Czech Republic.
How to get there:

• On foot: From Frymburk, you can take a scenic walk along the yellow-marked hiking trail.
• By bus: Buses run approximately every hour from Frymburk to Lipno nad Vltavou. From there, you can continue to the walkway on foot, by chairlift, or by local shuttle bus.

For more information, visit the Treetop Walkway official website.

It is worth noting that near the Tree Top Walk, there is also an option to rent a downhill scooter, allowing you to speed up your journey down the hill.

The Way of the Cross to the Svatá Marta Hill
If you prefer a shorter walk, you can take the route toward the Way of the Cross, and continue uphill to the top of Svatá Marta Hill above Frymburk, where you’ll find the beautifully restored chapel “Vysoká muka.” From the top, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of Frymburk, the lake, the surrounding Šumava hills, and, on clear days, even the Alps.

Trip to Vítkův Hrádek
You can also take a ferry from Frymburk to Frýdava and enjoy a scenic walk to Vítkův hrádek. Perched above the Šumava village of Svatý Tomáš at an altitude of 1,053 meters above sea level, lie the ruins of Vítkův Kámen, the highest-situated castle in the Czech Republic. The site offers breathtaking views and a touch of medieval atmosphere. To the best of our knowledge, the castle grounds and the lookout tower are unfortunately currently closed to the public. However, the walk itself remains a beautiful and rewarding experience.
